Bio

Michael Leppert is a ceramic artist dedicated to exploring the intersection of the natural world and human connection. With over a decade of experience, his work spans both functional pottery and sculptural forms, some pieces testing material limits while others beckon to be held or touched.

Leppert’s fascination with materiality began with a lifelong passion for hands-on craftsmanship, but it was his first formal ceramics course in 2012 that solidified his trajectory as an artist. Since then, he has refined a practice that emphasizes technical precision while remaining deeply rooted in the organic. His work consistently interrogates themes of balance—both physical and metaphorical—inviting viewers to reflect on their own relationships with the environment and one another.

Holding an MFA in Studio Arts, Leppert strives to balance his studio practice with a deep commitment to community engagement. He believes that art is a catalyst for conversation and connection, fostered through shared creative experiences.
